Annual Assembly Meeting 2022, Mr. Alessandro D’ORIA, CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania is elected the New President to lead FIAA

The Foreign Investors Association of Albania (FIAA) on May 9th, 2022 held its Annual Assembly Meeting. In this meeting were presented the main activities and the work program of the Association along with the main challenges of its 2022 Agenda. National Conference on the “Common Challenges and new pathways in the fight against corruption: digitalization as an anticorruption tool”

FIAA’s commitment and efforts to improving the doing business environment in Albania, is the main pillar of its work. During the National Conference on Anticorruption, hold in Tirana in June 13th-15th, FIAA’s President Mr. Alessandro D’Oria, during his word in the session: Business associations’ role in promoting good governance and fighting corruption spoke on behalf of FIAA by sharing experience and insights in fighting corruption. Investment Council puts forward Recommendations for the Improvement of the Public Consultation Process 

The Albania Investment Council (IC) held a plenary meeting to discuss on the private sector’s concerns and recommendations for the improvement of the public consultation process. ProCredit Bank signs agreement with EBRD on support for agribusiness and tourism SMEs      

The EBRD has committed to a risk-sharing instrument of up to €20 million with ProCredit Bank in Albania, which is expected to generate loans to beneficiary companies in the agribusiness and tourism sectors. The new support package for the agribusiness and tourism sectors in Albania was signed during the first visit of the EBRD President, Odile Renaud-Basso to Albania.

A €20 mln plafond for green investments of SMEs active in Albania   

Intesa Sanpaolo supports the internationalization of Southern Italy’s small and medium-sized enterprises and offers to SMEs active in Albania tools to increase their business and investment opportunities, including: 

- a €20 million plafond to support investments in the green economy - photovoltaic, energy efficiency, etc., made available by Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania;

EBRD and ProCredit promote energy efficiency in Albania

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is stepping up efforts to improve energy efficiency in Albania with a €3 million credit line to ProCredit Bank. The funds will be on-lent to households for investments in energy-saving solutions.
