Çalik Holding CEO Ahmet Çalik was awarded the 2014 Social Solidarity Prize by Albania’s Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth. ErionVeliaj, Minister of Social Welfare and Youth, awarded the prize to Mr Çalik in a ceremony at Zyber Hallulli Orphanage in Tirana in December. Çalik Holding owns Banka Kombëtare Tregtare.

Devoll Hydropower in February marked the start of construction of the Banja-Gramsh replacement road in a ceremony in Cekin attended by Minister of Energy and Industry Damian Gjiknuri, Minister of Infrastructure Edmond Haxhinasto and Stakraft Albania CEO Bredo Erichsen. The total road investment is €33 million, with construction expected to be completed by early 2016.

Raiffeisen Bank Albania CEO Christian Canacaris was elected Chairman of the Albanian Association of Banks with a two year mandate in an association meeting held on 11 February 2015. Mr Canacaris replaced Seyhan Pencabligil, CEO of Banka Kombëtare Tregtare.

Trans Atlantic Petroleum completed the acquisition of Stream Oil & Gas in November 2014 and announced the appointment of Douglas Nester as the firm’s Vice President of Albania.
